Mr. Wilford Thomas Davenport of Green County was born in Taylor County KY. on September 18, 1957, to the late Ollen T. and Roxie Bloyd Davenport. He departed this life on Monday July 8, 2024, at his home in Green County having attained the age of sixty-six years, nine months and twenty days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church of the Nolynn Association and currently attended Shady Grove Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Green County High School. He was a farmer and formerly employed at Greensburg Manufacturing for 15 years. Later, he obtained an associate’s degree in behavioral science and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Western Kentucky University where he was a member of the Golden Key Honor Society and listed among the Who’s Who as a Non-Traditional Student. He was a Master Mason of the Greensburg Masonic Lodge Chapter 54 F & AM.
Survivors include his wife: Marshelia Wooldridge Davenport; one son and his wife: Ben and Jennifer Davenport; one daughter: Amanda Davenport, all of Green County; two brothers: Michael Davenport and his wife Patricia, and Verlon Davenport; two granddaughters: Hilary Fox and her husband Jon, Emilee Davenport; one grandson: Brayden Thomas Davenport; two great grandchildren: Easton Thomas Burriss and Copelee Fox, plus a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service for Wilford Thomas Davenport will be conducted at 1PM Central Time, Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home with Bro. Pat Smith and Bro. Ashley Shuffett officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church of the Nolynn Association Cemetery in Green County.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 4pm-8pm Central Time and after 7am on Thursday until time of the service. A masonic service will be held on Wednesday at 6 pm central time by the Greensburg Masonic Lodge #54 F & AM. Masonic members are requested to meet at the Masonic Lodge at 5:00 pm central time.
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations to Green County Family Resource Youth Service Center, The Gideons for Bibles or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. These can be made at the funeral home.
