The Campbellsville Baseball squad had no trouble Monday, cruising to a 10-0 win over the Holy Cross Cougars.
Campbellsville wasted no time getting started, putting runs on the board in the first inning. Ty Burwash launched a home run to right field, while Cayton Lawhorn added an RBI single to center to make it an early 2-0 lead.
They kept the momentum going in the second inning, taking advantage of a balk, a defensive error by Holy Cross, and an RBI double off the bat of Kace Eastridge to stretch the lead even further.
Campbellsville broke things open in the third inning, adding three more runs. Mason Willis brought one home on a sacrifice bunt, and Dax Gray followed with a two-run homer to center field.
Eastridge was dominant on the mound, picking up the win after tossing six shutout innings. He gave up just two hits, struck out seven, and walked two. Tyler Manning took the loss for Holy Cross, allowing eight runs—six earned—on nine hits over three innings.
At the plate, Campbellsville racked up 13 hits. Gray drove in two runs, while Kade Somerville, Lawhorn, and Burwash each finished with two hits. The team also stayed aggressive on the bases, swiping seven bags and turning a double play defensively.
