The countdown is officially on for one of the region’s biggest summer traditions.
The 50th Annual Campbellsville-Taylor County Fourth of July Celebration, presented by Taylor Regional Hospital, is now less than a month away and organizers are inviting residents and visitors alike to join in eight days of family fun, entertainment, food, contests, live music, fireworks, and patriotic celebration.
The festivities will run from Saturday, June 27 through Saturday, July 4, with a full schedule of events planned throughout Campbellsville and Taylor County.
This year’s celebration will feature several new attractions and returning favorites. One of the most anticipated additions is the Murakami Hot Air Balloon Glow, which will include a free Kids Carnival and Triple Crown Wrestling before the balloons light up the evening sky beginning at 8 p.m.
The popular Firecracker Games will return to Miller Park, and organizers have also added a new 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament presented by Forcht Bank.
On Wednesday, July 1, residents are encouraged to participate in the Fourth of July Photo Contest and attend the Green River Winds Community Concert at the Miller Park Amphitheater.
Golf enthusiasts can take part in the America 250 Golf Scramble at Campbellsville Country Club on July 3. The tournament, presented by Commonwealth Building Products, is scheduled to begin with an 8 a.m. tee time.
Later that evening, Kentucky native Dillon Carmichael will headline a downtown Campbellsville concert presented by Green River Meats.
Organizers remind attendees that all events are weather permitting and subject to change. Residents are encouraged to follow the celebration’s social media pages and website for the latest updates and event information.
