Boaters planning to visit Green River Lake next weekend are being advised of temporary boating restrictions during the annual Raft Up event in Butler Creek.
According to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Green River Lake, Butler Creek will be designated as a temporary No Wake/Idle Speed zone beginning Friday afternoon, July 24th, and continuing through Sunday afternoon, July 26th.
During this time, No Wake/Idle Speed buoys will be placed throughout the area, and all boaters are reminded to follow posted boating rules and regulations.
Officials are also asking participants in the Raft Up event to keep an opening in the main navigation channel to allow other boaters to safely travel between the boat ramp and the main lake.
The temporary restrictions are intended to improve safety for everyone enjoying the annual event and the busy weekend on the water.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers encourages all visitors to use caution, observe posted markers, and help make the weekend safe and enjoyable for everyone at Green River Lake.
