Campbellsville Fire-Rescue Dispatched To Drowning At Lone Valley In Green River Lake State Park

Campbellsville Fire-Rescue was dispatched Sunday, June 2nd, 2024, to a report of a person in distress in the water at Lone Valley, Green River Lake State Park.

Upon arrival, firefighters found that an approximately 69 year old male subject was missing in the water and his vehicle was in the water also.

Upon arrival, firefighters began interviewing witnesses to get an approximate point last scene.

3 public safety divers entered the water and began an immediate search for the subject. 

Divers located the body approximately 110′ from the ramp and 15′ deep water, the subject was pronounced deceased by Campbellsville Taylor County EMS.

Public safety divers then began vehicle recovery operations, bringing the vehicle back to the ramp.

The incident is being investigated by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Law Enforcement and Taylor County Coroner’s Office.
