Donald C. Whitley of Elizabethtown, KY, the son of the late Wesley Whitley and Mae Ferguson Whitley, was born on May 1, 1940, in Campbellsville, KY, and departed this life on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Baptist Health Hardin. He was 84 years of age.
He was a retired employee of the Kentucky Dept. of Transportation and was the prior owner and barber at Don’s Barber Shop. He was a graduate of the Louisville Barber College and was a proud Democrat. He professed faith in Christ, and was a lifelong member of St. Andrew Methodist Church, and attended the Grace Heartland Church in Elizabethtown.
On December 2, 1962, he united in marriage to Gwendolyn Kelly Whitley, who preceded him in death on March 12, 2017.
He is survived by two sons: Marcus Whitley and his wife Stacey of Leitchfield, and Donnie Whitley of Elizabethtown.
Four grandchildren: Landon Pauley Whitley, Sydne Hope Whitley, Ian Hinson, and Ethan Hinson (Nicole). Three Great-grandchildren: Aubrey Hinson, Keaston Hinson, and Ahliana Hinson.
One sister: Charlotte Callahan.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Donald C. Whitley at 1:00 P.M. EST on Monday, May 20, 2024, in the chapel of L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
The family has requested visitation from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at the funeral home.
