Ethan Scott South

June 17, 1997  –  July 7, 2026

Ethan Scott South of Indiana, formerly of Greensburg and Bowling Green, son of Scott Porter South of Bowling Green and the late Amy McGlone South, was born on Tuesday, June 17, 1997 in Louisville and departed this life on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at his home. He was 29 years and 20 days of age.

Ethan served our country honorably, having served in the United States Army, and went on to work as a Mechanical Technician for First Class Air Support. He would light up any room he walked into with his contagious laugh and big smile. Ethan was an outdoorsman that loved hunting and fishing, and he always loved a good adventure. He was the best daddy to his daughter, Scarlett, who was his pride and joy.

He is survived by his daughter: Scarlett South of Wisconsin; his father and step-mother: Scott and Shae South of Bowling Green; seven siblings: Mason South of Louisville, Conner and Kristen South of New York, Madison South of Campbellsville, Hayden Shelton, Hunter and Madison Shelton, Halle Shelton, Hannah South all of Bowling Green; his grandparents: Beverly and Gwynne Gaddie of Russellville, Charlotte and LeRoy Bratcher of Campbellsville, Mike Clark of Bowling Green; and host other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Amy McGlone South.

A memorial service for Ethan Scott South will be conducted at 6:30 P.M., Central Time, Thursday, July 16, 2026 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Ayers officiating.

A Military Honors Service will follow by the Marion County Honor Guard at 7 P.M., Central Time at the funeral home.

Visitation is requested after 3 P.M., Central Time, Thursday at the funeral home until time of the service.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Scarlett South’s Trust Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
