* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE…Portions of central and south central Kentucky, including the following counties, in central Kentucky, Boyle, Casey, Garrard, Green, Lincoln, Marion, Mercer, Taylor and Washington. In south central Kentucky, Adair, Cumberland and Russell.
* WHEN…Until Midnight CDT /1:00 AM EDT Friday.
* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – At 12:01 PM CDT /1:01 PM EDT/, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Water over portions of Highway 76 in Eli was reported by a HAM radio operator. – Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. – Some locations that will experience flooding include… Liberty, Danville, Campbellsville, Harrodsburg, Columbia, Stanford, Greensburg, Jamestown, Russell Springs and Junction City. – http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads.
