Mr. Frankie Gene Smith of the Summersville community in Green County passed from this life on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at his home. Born in Louisville on July 23, 1952 to the late Emmett Smith and Marie (Burks) Felix, he was 71 years of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a faithful and devoted member of Living Word Faith Center. Mr. Smith was a mechanic by trade. He enjoyed everything outdoors, including hunting and fishing, but he loved motorsports. He especially enjoyed watching auto races, whether on TV or in person, and loved everything from dirt track races to NASCAR races.
He leaves to cherish his memory:

Three children: Robbie Smith of the Creole community, William Brian Smith and wife Brenda of Lebanon, and Christy Wilson of California,
Two stepchildren: Buddy Bowling of Manchester, and Michelle Howard and husband Shane of Taswell, TN,
A brother: John Emmett Smith and wife Louise,
Two sisters: Melonie Sherrard and husband Steve, and Margaret Compton and husband Terry,
Seven grandchildren: David Smith and wife Tiffany, Brittany Smith, Brea Colvin and husband Casey, Blake Smith and fiancé Madison, Caylynn Smith, George Anderson and wife Ashley, and Jessica Anderson,
Nine great-grandchildren,
And a host of other family members and friends.
There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Smith on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM EDT (10:00 AM CDT) in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville. Burial will follow in the Otter Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 18, from 5:00-8:00 PM EDT (4:00-7:00 PM CDT).
