Mr. Luther L. Dial of the Hudgins Community of Green County, Kentucky, son of the late Lucian and Lena Harmon Dial, was born on December 16, 1949 on the family farm in Green County. He departed this life on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at the Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, Kentucky having attained the age of 76 years, five months and 18 days.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church.
He served his Country honorably in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Rod Lowe Post 124.
Luther was a retired construction worker and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, farming and horseback riding.
He is survived by his wife of over 55 years, Brenda Sue Patterson Dial, having united in marriage on November 14, 1970.
In addition to his wife, Mrs. Brenda Dial of Hudgins, other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: Luther Wayne and Gwen Dial of Hudgins; two daughters and one son-in-law: Malinda and Troy Buley and Renea Dial, both of Greensburg; grandchildren: Andrew and Patricia Dial, Keaton and Emily Buley, Leah Dial, Kylie Buley, Peyton Borders, Gavin Dial, Averie Whitlow and Breanna and Casey Colvin; great-grandchildren: Colton Dial, Lucas Dial, Ella Grace Buley, Brystol Colvin and Ralynn Colvin; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Magaline and James Skaggs of Greensburg, Janie and Jim Borders of Campbellsville, and Sue and Bill Murrey of Summersville; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Johnnie and Regina Dial and Bobby Dial all of Greensburg, and Billy and Leetta Dial of Campbellsville: one sister-in-law: Josie Dial of Greensburg; one brother-in-law: Larry Eads of Summersville; plus a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Dean Dial, and siblings: William Dial, Doris Eads and Cora Mae Armer.
The funeral service for Luther Dial will be conducted at 1 PM, Central Time, on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial to follow in Holly Grove Cemetery. Bro. Danny Nelson and Bro. Lloyd Dial officiating.
Visitation is requested after 10 AM, Central Time, on Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
