Norma Laverne Russell of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Ray Godsey and Bertha Goode Godsey, was born July 5, 1936 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 3:02 P.M., Wednesday, April 8, 2026 in Campbellsville. Age: 89
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Green River Baptist Church.
Norma united in marriage to Wallace C. Russell December 21, 1954 and he preceded her in death September 4, 1992.
She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville after twenty-eight years of service. She later worked as a CNA with Home Health and Medco Nursing Home for several years. Her family said, “she devoted her life to caring for others.”
Norma is survived by one daughter: Rita Kay Russell Ford of Lebanon; two grandchildren: Kevin Abell Ford and Amanda Vannice and husband, Jason of Campbellsville; three great-grandchildren: Tiffany Ford and Tori Hardin of Lebanon and Jacob Stewart of Kansas; one brother and one sister: Douglas Godsey and wife, Gail of Campbellsville and Pat Thompson and husband, George of Adair County; one sister-in-law, Marsha Godsey of Adair County; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Norma was also preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Arlene Smith and a brother, Larry Godsey.
